MOTION CONTROL

Our motion control portfolio meets your unique application needs with a broad range of servo drives, servo motors, and actuators. Start with the right Kinetix® servo drive, a compact single-axis drive for simple applications or a high-performance multi-axis servo drive that fits seamlessly into your Integrated Architecture™ system. Actuators

MP-Series™ integrated linear motion products include linear actuators and linear stages. These products provide flexible servo control through accurate positioning and quick-building forces.

• Integrated Linear Thrusters

Our Bulletin LDAT Integrated Linear Thrusters provide high-speed, load-bearing linear motion out-of-the-box and are capable of pushing, pulling, or carrying a load. They are reliable linear actuators that combine high levels of velocity and acceleration, peak thrust forces, and direct drive technology to help maximize performance and reliability.

• VP- and MP-Series Electric Cylinders

Our Bulletin VPAR and MPAR electric cylinders provide an integrated solution with dynamic, precise responses for a wide range of linear motion applications. These cylinders use RSLogix 5000 software to extend and retract with highly repeatable positioning, velocity, and force. Industry-standard mountings and rod-end attachments help simplify your assembly and reduce mechanical design engineering, wiring, and commissioning time.

• MP-Series Heavy Duty Electric Cylinders

Our Bulletin MPAI MP-Series™ Heavy Duty Electric Cylinders are compact, lightweight, high force actuators that serve as a cost-effective alternative to hydraulic solutions. Our ready-to-install electric cylinders are energy efficient and help provide machine flexibility, including precise, multi-point positioning.

• MP-Series Integrated Linear Stages

Our Bulletin MPAS MP-Series™ Integrated Linear Stages can support heavy loads and tolerate moment loads. These actuators are ideal for high precision applications in clean environments. They are designed with ballscrew and linear motor technology.

• MP-Series Integrated Multi-Axis Stages

Our Bulletin MPMA MP-Series™ Integrated Multi-Axis Stages are actuators that provide an out-of-the-box solution for precise two-dimensional positioning and velocity. The flexible design lets you position stages from above or below, and integrate them with RSLogix™ 5000 software (version 20 or earlier) for fast and easy commissioning.

Servo Drives

Allen‑Bradley Kinetix® servo drives fit seamlessly into the Logix platform for easy configurability, system integration, and your choice of network and safety options.

• Kinetix Integrated Motion on EtherNet/IP Servo Drives

Our Kinetix® 5500, 5700, 6500, and 350 Servo Drives connect to and operate with Logix controllers, supporting Integrated Motion on EtherNet/IP. These drives combine high-performance integrated motion with an open EtherNet/IP network. They can be part of a solution using EtherNet/IP to integrate high-performance servo and AC drives, I/O, smart actuators, and any other EtherNet/IP-connected device.

• Encoder Output Module

Our Bulletin 2198 Encoder Output Modules synchronize devices to your integrated motion on EtherNet/IP system. It can sync to any axis of motion, real or virtual, and is ideal for use with Kinetix® and PowerFlex® drives.

• Kinetix EtherNet/IP Indexing and Standalone Servo Drives

Our Kinetix® indexing and standalone servo drives help reduce machine complexity by offering the appropriate level of control you need. • Kinetix Integrated Motion on SERCOS Interface

Our Kinetix® 6000 and 6200 SERCOS Integrated Motion Multi-axis Servo Drives help to improve system performance while saving time and money. Kinetix 2000 Servo Drives extend the benefits of Kinetix integrated motion to low-power motion control applications, Kinetix 7000 servo drives support motion applications with the highest power requirements. The Kinetix 6000M integrated drive-motor systems combine the high-performance MP-Series™ food-grade servo motor and Kinetix 6000 servo drive into a single package.

• Ultra 3000 Digital Servo Drives

Rockwell Automation announces that as of December 2022, our Bulletin 2098 Kinetix® Ultra™ 3000 Digital Servo Drives will be discontinued and no longer available for sale. To support your transition, we recommend that you migrate to one of our Bulletin 2198 Kinetix 5100, 5300, or 5500 Servo Drives.

Encoders

Our Absolute Encoders on EtherNet/IP connect to and operate with the Logix controllers to provide position tracking data to be used in open-loop control systems. Our Absolute Encoders are electro-mechanical devices that are useful feedback elements in closed-loop control systems. They provide position control in packaging, robotics, pick and place, lead/ball screw, rotary table positioning and component insertion applications. Our Incremental Optical Encoders provide low cost, smaller physical size, high frequency and high resolution. Our accessories help you easily install and efficiently use our encoders.

Absolute Encoders

Absolute Encoders retain your position data during the loss of power. They are excellent choices in systems that require a failsafe operation. Our magnetic encoders directly connect to DeviceNet™ for advanced functionality with reduced wiring cost. Our sine/cosine encoders provide absolute feedback for position control and high-resolution incremental feedback for speed control. Our Integrated Motion on EtherNet/IP encoders leverage CIP Sync, a time synchronization extension that is fully compliant with IEEE 1588. You can use our single-turn encoders for reliable readouts in harsh conditions.

Incremental Optical Encoders

Our Incremental Optical Encoders produce digital output related to the position of a rotating shaft, providing feedback elements in closed-loop control systems. You can use our encoders with external electronics, such as counters, to accumulate data to determine position, speed, and direction. Use these encoders when position retention is not required during a loss of power.

Servo Motors

Our Kinetix® Servo Motors include a broad range of Rotary Motors and Linear Motors. Our rotary motors comprise several series including Kinetix® VP-Series, MP-Series™ and TL-Series™ and HPK-Series motors. Our linear motors include the LDC-Series™ and LDL-Series™ with no-wear. The servo motor families offer Smart Motor Technology to provide automatic identification of correct motor-to-drive connectivity and are seamlessly integrated with Kinetix® servo drive for optimal system performance.

Limit Switches

Our limit switches are electro-mechanical devices that consist of an actuator mechanically linked to a set of contacts. When an object comes into contact with the actuator, the device operates the contacts to make or break an electrical connection. • Level Sensors

Our level sensors are heavy-duty industrial control devices. They open and close contacts in response to changes in the liquid level. Level sensors are available in five different styles with both motor and pilot duty contact ratings.

• Flow Switches
• Our flow switches monitor and display liquid media flow rate from 0.03 to 3 m/sec (0.1 to 9.84 ft/sec). This sensor measures both flow and temperature and is available with two different probe insertion lengths.
• Speed Sensing Switches

Our speed sensing switches provide an electrical contact signal at a determined speed for plugging, anti-plugging, speed sensing, and direction of rotation.

Identification Devices

• 48CR Code Reader

Our code readers are the smallest industrial code readers on the market. These rugged, compact solutions can decode 1D, 2D and Direct Part Marked (DPM) codes and they can even successfully read damaged and incomplete symbols. The 48CR supports Ethernet/IP™ and can be configured through either the Studio 5000 Logix Designer application Add-on Profile (AOP) or the embedded WebConnect visual browser.

• High-frequency RFID

Our high-frequency radio frequency identification (RFID) system is ideal for tracking and documenting products as they move through the manufacturing process in light-duty industrial applications. The RFID system tags, transceivers, and interfaces are designed to the ISO 15693 open standard for high frequency.

Hazardous Location Switches

Our hazardous location switches are designed for use in applications such as refineries, distilleries, grain elevators and flour mills where dangerous gases or other materials may be present.

• Pneumatic Rotacam Hazardous Location Switches

Our pneumatic Rotacam™ hazardous location switches provide positive-acting isolation of a machine's compressed air supply. The Pneumatic Lifeline™ 4 Hazardous Location Switches are rope-operated pneumatic safety switches that guard exposed pneumatic machinery and conveyor equipment. These switches are immune to machine vibration.

• Guardmaster Explosion-Proof Switches

Our Guardmaster® explosion-proof switches have sealed flameproof contact blocks, making them suitable for use in European Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous environments. They retain the safety features and operating principles of the conventional Guardmaster switches. All the Guardmaster Ex switches conform to the exacting standards required by the European harmonized standards.
