Some applications demand a specific solution. Trying to run a standard specification chain in a harsh environment will lead to dramatically reduced working life, possible chain failure and expensive downtime and all this can be avoided by specifying the chain that's designed for the job.

Abrasive environments such as brick and tile manufacture, which are characterised by dust and debris, are perfect examples of applications that demand the inclusion of the Renold Sovereign chain. Renold Sovereign includes a particular surface treatment that ensures greatly increased wear resistance. The chain can withstand the effect of dust and debris infiltrating the bearing areas between pins, bushes and plates, an effect that would quickly grind away a standard specification chain.

Renold Klik-Top Chain is quick to install, strong and suitable for transporting delicate goods without damaging them.

The use of conventional transfer chains, chains with U-Type attachments and polymer blockchains often results in damage to the chain. Whilst the replacement of just a single steel U-type attachment requires the disassembling of several chain components, the Klik-Top chain delivers the easy solution.

Easy to remove and replace

The clip is fixed onto the chain with a simple click. It attaches easily over the slightly extended pins of the chain. The clip can be removed from the base chain as easily as it is attached so that complex and expensive disassembly of several chain components is no longer necessary.

Thanks to the approved and reliable Klik-Top mechanism you can replace a clip within just a few moments and production can continue. Furthermore, a differently coloured clip marks the position of every connecting link helping you to locate them more quickly.

Klik-Top Chain

Unlike conventional steel U-type attachments, there are no sharp edges in contact with the conveyed goods. Klik-Top features a synthetic U-Type attachment with rounded edges. When the chain passes over the sprocket the rounded edges of the new clip ensure that the goods will not be damaged.

This also protects the chain itself. Fitting over the slightly extended pins the clip secures the chain's bearing areas from dirt and other contamination helping to extend the chain's working life.

Corrosion Resistant or Maintenance Free Options

Another benefit of the clip is that it can be combined with a multitude of base chains. Besides the approved Renold precision roller chains it can also be used on plated, coated or stainless steel roller chains for applications that require corrosion resistance. Renold Syno maintenance free chain can also be used for the base chain.

The precision conveyor chain, like the transmission chain, consists of a series of journal bearings held in precise relationship to each other by constraining link plates.

Each bearing consists of a bearing pin and bush on which the chain roller revolves. The bearing pin and bush are case-hardened to allow articulation under high pressures and to contend with the load-carrying pressure and gearing action imparted via the chain rollers.

Plates are made from special steel which can withstand sudden loads and provides maximum resistance to breakage.

Bearing Pins

Pins are manufactured from special steel which has excellent resistance to bending. This increases the wear life of the chain.

Inner Link Plates

The movement of the inner plates is improved by close control of the pin and plate hole dimensions. This reduces rubbing (friction) to a minimum so the chain operates more economically and efficiently.

Chain pitch

Pitch (distance between each pin or plate hole) accuracy and pin hole diameters (holes in link plates) are maintained on every component during manufacture. This ensures consistent precision performance and good movement of the leaf chain joints.
